When I first invited a group of talented Epsom people to a meeting to discuss rescuing the abandoned Grade II listed Horton Chapel and re-opening it as an arts centre, we naively set ourselves the target of starting building work within 18 months.

That was 3 years ago…

Now, though, we’re officially in a position to start refurbishment works after getting Permission to Start from key funders the Heritage Lottery Fund.

It’s been the proverbial rollercoaster ride of a journey. But the talent, professionalism and sheer determination of the trustees that I am proud to chair have got us to the point where we can confidently say the building will be open in 2020.
